Historical information

Elijah Dawson II was the son of Elijah Dawson I who accompanied the Molloys, Bussells, Turners and others who arrived at the Swan River Colony on the Warrior in 1830. When Elijah Dawson II was born on 30 August 1845, in Wonnerup, Western Australia, his father, Elijah Dawson, was 47 and his mother, Ann Wakeham, was 41.

Elijah Dawson junior grew up at his father's property Westbrook and managed the property for Elijah senior as he aged. He married Elizabeth Betts on 28 March 1867, in Busselton, Western Australia. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters and they lived at Westbrook until he retired to Perth in 1906 and Westbrook was sold to William Taylor. He died, aged 62, on 17 September 1907, in Armadale, Western Australia, Australia, and was buried in Kelmscott, Western Australia.
