Hayes Road, Quairading, Western Australia, Australia - 004

1983
Overview

A typical example of planning with insufficient knowledge. The bank is located in the wrong place!, necessitating a mini stopper bank to pick up water coming in off the boundary fence (a road and other catchment). This can easily flood to carry on the existing erosion. This illustrates - "starting at the lowest point on the highest boundary" strategy of surface water control - a common mistake!
