WISALTS Technical - 003
Illustrating a deep throughflow which needs sealing with plastic sheeting. Use a backhoe in the trench, if too wet, behind the trench, a dozer is suitable for making the trench. If is wet and unstable ground a tracked type bucket backhoe can be useful. Make sure the plastic sheet is into the impervious layer, and the sides extend wider than the throughflow. Excess water can leak around the corners in top soil. This image is part of the WISALTS (Whittington Interceptor Sustainable Agriculture Land Treatment Society Incorporated) Collection.
