Overview

The image shows the intersection of Rokeby Road and Hay Street looking southwards and features building on both sides. A single tramline can be seen snaking up the hill in the distance. The lower section of the front and west side of the Subiaco Hotel is on the left. An enclosed upper level balcony is on the west side of the hotel. On the other corner is a two storey building with an upper balcony - H.G. Southee's shop (first listed in 1912 PO directory). Opposite this building can be seen the corner of a two storey building with elaborate lacework on the upper balcony. A man is crossing the road and a policeman and a fireman(?) stand near a bicycle in the road to the right of the picture. 'Rokeby Road, Subiaco' is printed top centre on the photograph.
