PHOTOGRAPH: PARADE IN ROKEBY ROAD, SUBIACO - 23/10/14
The photograph was taken from the bank on the corner of Churchill Avenue and Rokeby Road looking south. Two sets of tramlines run down the road. A group of scouts are marching in foreground at lower right and in the centre of the photo are two persons in fancy dress rolling a huge ball down the street. A man is cycling in the foreground. Crowds of onlookers are either trailing behind or standing to the side to watch, some in horse-drawn vehicles. Several two storey buildings are shown on the right of the photo. On the back of the original photo were the words: Subiaco 23/10/14 - Miss Valena Blechynden, 2 Duke St, Subiaco. Could it be part of the 'Fancy Dress Carnival' of which we have a photo dated 26/10/14 No. P85.126.
