Overview

A photograph of an original black & white photo of a family group which is attached to a material display board.
The original photo is in damaged condition. It appears to have been torn in half and then joined again with adhesive tape which is now yellowing
The family portrait has been taken in a photographic studio with a neutral backdrop and a fur rug on the floor, and comprises two parents and five children .
The father is sitting to the left next to two boys - one sitting & one standing.
There are two older girls - one standing & one sitting in the middle of the group, and on the right the mother is sitting with a third little girl on her lap.
All are dressed in formal clothes of what is estimated to be the early 1900s. Father in suit and waistcoat, Mother in a floor length gown & hat. The boys in 'sailor suits' & the girls in similar knee length frocks with white collars. Knee socks & lace boots.

Historical information
