TWO SOLDIERS A HORSE AND A DOG

1940
Subcollections
Overview

A copy of a small original black & white photo with dog-eared corners and attached to a material covered display board.
The original photo shows two soldiers (of probable equal rank) standing outside a stable door over which a horse's head is protruding between the shoulders, left & right, of the two men.
A border collie dog is sitting at their feet.
Writing in blue ink at the bottom of the photo appears to identify the subjects. Beneath the soldier on the left is "Mac" , beneath the dog is "Dave" and beneath the soldier on the right is "Bert".
More writing in ink identifies the year as 1940 and diagonally at the bottom right hand corner an original inscription in a lighter colour blue ink reads, "To Mac / In fond remembrance of a true friend / [signature unclear] "
