MGGC KEY RING ATTACHMENT

This is a metal key ring attachment.

A key ring links to the attachment via a figure of eight metal loop. The crest-shaped, metal attachment features the green and gold MGGC crest. The perimeter of the crest has the words Melville Glades Golf Club in gold lettering on a green background.

The rear of the attachment is silver plated with the imprinted text:

The origins of the key ring are not known. However, it is likely that MGGC golf professional Peter Milton obtained a supply of the key rings in order to promote his business at the club. Whether they were sold, or provided free, is also not known.

The date of this item is also not known other than the fact that Peter Milton served as the MGGC Golf Professional for the period 1983 - 2004. Also, telephone numbers changed from 7 to 8 digits in 1997 in Perth so the key ring would have been produced prior to then.

Two samples of the key ring attachments are available. The one registered and shown in the photographs is in good condition. The other shows signs of extensive usage with the edge of the attachment slightly deformed, the attachment itself curved, and the silver plating on the rear partially worn away.
