The wooden cabinet has a pull out centre drawer and 2 drawers on each side all mounted on cast iron treadle base with original roller feet.

New Home Sewing Machine Co started making "Ruby" around 1893. New Home was originally Johnson & Clark of Orange, MA established in 1860. It become New Home around 1881 and after a number of mergers, in1957 was taken over by Janome Corporation.
