The qualifying rounds in the title refer to the Women's Championships.

The trophy was first presented in 1977 and was known as the Melville Glades Associates Trophy. The trophy itself was engraved "Perpetual Trophy".

The silver trophy with handles on each side is embossed with a grapevine around the top edge. The winners' names are engraved directly on the trophy.
