Overview

This ten page document was personally compiled by long-term club member Jess Spencer. As Jess states in her opening paragraph, the content is a combination of extracts from the minutes of the Ladies Committee and Match Meetings, Jess’s personal recollections and associations, and information from the Silver Anniversary Booklet prepared by Laurie Palmer.

The content of the document is thus primarily a history of the women at the club but also includes Jess’s personal historical recollections, biographical information of particular members, in particular Laurie Palmer, Tom Cook and Ian Metcher, and concludes with some personal biographical information about Jess herself.

The content of the document has not been edited for grammatical errors, authenticity and may not necessarily be a comprehensive record of the women's history at the club.

Although the document is stated to cover the period 1966 to 2009 it was only donated to the Melville Glades archive in 2020. Also refer to Dawn Johnston's historical notes document (Item 2021.84). There is some overlap in content between these two documents.
