WW2 Wooden 303 Ammunition Box
c. 1944 - 1956Wooden .303 ammunition box 1944-1956 with lid soldered on - very few lids survived. The markings suggest that this box stored 500 rounds of .303 standard ammunition Mk 7 in 50 round Bandoliers. The fact that it says Mk7 rather than MkVII indicates late/post WWII as the change to Arabic numerals from Roman occurred in 1944.
