Wooden base with metal cutting device on top, for cutting tobacco. Metal is black in colour and wood in brown in colour. Wooden base has large rounded corners.

Historical information

Manufactured by W.A. Tyzack & Co of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. The company produced a wide amount of tools and blades. One of the tools they produced were tobacco plug cutters. The tool was used in either stores or in the home to cut tobacco leaf or plugs (bricks of compressed tobacco). They were popular from the 1800s through to the late 1930s.
