PHOTOGRAPH: STABLE AT NEW SUBIACO
c. 1850 - 1859The black and white photograph shows the stable built in the 1850s by the Benedictine monks at New Subiaco. This small building is all that remains of the monastery buildings and is in a very dilapidated state. The photo shows the north aspect of a stone stable with corrugated iron covering the shingled roof. A large chimney is at the side of the building. The walls of the stable show signs of damage. There are two timber doors and a small casement window. A small bench with boxes stands against the outside wall. There are trees in the background.
