A small black and white photograph showing two camels standing on sand and carrying equipment that includes machine guns. One camel is being led by an indigenous cameleer. The photograph has a small border and is in good condition with slight damage to its edges
Historical information
Camels were well suited for the desert in Sinai and Palestine. They could carry around 145 kilograms and go without water for up to five days. Tens of thousands were used to get water to the soldiers and carry equipment
