PENNANT - WEST LOTHIAN COUNCIL

Overview

Green satin rectangular pennant. Lower edge of pennant though is curved and has a white tassel fringe along this edge. Across the top the edge sewn around a white plastic rod with white tassels at either end. Attached to the tassels is a white hanging cord
On pennant on left side is a rectangle pink and white logo of a Roman water culvert over a road with hills and clouds in the background.[West Lothian], written in white, and underneath [Council], written in pink.

Historical information

This pennant came from the West Lothian Council which is located in Scotland, which has a sister city relationship with Armadale. It was presented to a City of Armadale Councillor in 1996 who was on a personal trip to Scotland and took time out to present a gift to the West Lothian Council.

Statement of significance

Historic: There is a belief that the Armadale Station may have been named after the town of Armadale in Scotland, thus the sister city relationship
Provenance: Was picked up in 1996 when a city of Armadale Councillor on a personal trip to Scotland took time out to present a gift to the West Lothian council and collected material for the COA in 1996
