MEMORIAL CARD GRACE VERA SINCLAIR
1913Memorial Card, black base with gold writing and decoration round the edge; in memory of Grace Vera Sinclair.
Text on card:
"Do not ask me if we miss her,
There is such a vacant place,
Can we e'er forget her footsteps,
And her dear familiar face,
Time has passed and we still miss her,
Words would fail our love to tell,
But in heaven we hope to meet her,
Jesus doeth all things well.
At Rest."
An article about Grace's funeral (which occurred on the previous Saturday morning) was published in the Goomalling-Dowerin Mail on Fri 7 Feb 1913. The funeral service was conducted at St John's Church,(assumed to be the Anglican Church in Northam) and the burial was at Katrine Cemetery. Grace's parents were Thomas Bonaparte Napoleon Sinclair and Melinda Amelia Sinclair (nee Wilkerson). Attending the cemetery, along with many mourners from the local community, was her father, sisters, Linda and Sara, and brothers Vivian, Harry and Samuel.
