King George Hostel, Austral Terrace, Katanning
A black and white photograph of a two-storey brick building which is built along two perpendicular streets. Along the entire second storey is a continuous wooden balcony with wooden balustrades.
On the roof of the building in the foreground is a polygonal tower on the corner of the building which intersects both streets.
There is a power line on the left hand side of the main street.
The building in the foreground is the 'King George Hostel' although originally it was called 'St Georges Hostel' is a significant building as it was built by the Alex Thomson for Melville Piesse in 1913.
It is located on the corner of Albion Street (side street) and Austral Terrace (main street).

Above the corner entrance to the building is a sign which reads "B.K.W. FURN MART 211577". The number "211577" would have been the phone number for the business.
This building is important due to its association with the Piesse family.
