Item 2: inside box are two wax candles, and a matchbox. There is a small metal stand for candle to stand upright, and a metal compartment for matchbox to sit.

Historical information

The "Camp Pocket Candlestick - A Soldier's Friend" was a portable, Australian-made, printed tinplate candleholder patented in July 1915 to provide light for soldiers in World War I field camps. It enabled soldiers to keep candles and matches dry, with the hinged lid acting as a wind shield.
