80th Birthday

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Buuunooo! Happy Birthday to you! This year was the 80th for Bunbury Senior High School.

To celebrate, a day was set aside (Friday, 15th August) for a range of nostalgic activities. But this birthday celebration was not just about the age of the buildings. It was also about the rich history that has developed over the past 80 years. It was about the triumphs and the tragedies that many people had shared as members of the Bunbury Senior High School community.

The day began with visitors arriving from many places. These past students and staff were surprised and delighted to see the school and its many changes. They enjoyed exploring the historic Library displays and reminiscing about their school experiences. Actually, some of the faces in the "historic" memorabilia can still be seen in the Bunno staffroom at lunchtime! Guests also enjoyed cappuccinos provided by the Work Studies students.

The current students participated in Form Quizzes that highlighted interesting facts from the past, and received a commemorative certificate to keep. Many Learning Areas also conducted special lessons in keeping with the day.

Thanks must go to Mr Ryder and the Prefects who organised the day. It was a very memorable occasion.
