PHOTOGRAPH: METTERS' HOME ECONOMICS DEMONSTRATION

c. 1960
Overview

The black and white photograph showing two girls wearing white uniforms and white caps, giving a cookery demonstration. One stands next to a stove speaking into a microphone, while the other is using an egg beater in a bowl standing on a table laden with a few other bowls, foodstuffs and chopping board. To the left is a table with a cake stand and cake plates. A large sign in front of the table indicates that this is a Technical College Home Economics Demonstration. Another board lists menus and times of demonstrations. Several posters indicate that this photo was taken during Education Week. At the left front is a poster which reads as follows: 'The stoves being used in this demonstration are METTERS E.I. ELECTRIC and METTERS G.I. GAS. Designed and manufactured in Western Australia.'
