Overview

Image: A large drawn picture contained in a wooden frame. Picture is of the stately Duffell House and its front garden, located at 135 Hamersley Road. The house is made of brick and surrounded by a verandah. The roof is slanted, with a front section being raised and ending in a pointed decoration like a church. A chimney can be seen on the back, left hand side of the house. The front garden is planted with a number of trees, bushes ferns and a large palm tree. A picket fence can be seen on the left of the image, and a footpath lines the foreground.

Signature: Bottom right 'Peter Harper 1999'.

Frame: Wood frame with glass.

Reverse: On the reverse side of the object, the tape holding the cork board firmly in place is peeling in places, but otherwise the frame is very secure.

Historical information

The object is a Peter Harper drawing done in 1999. Peter knocked on the front door of Duffell House asking permission to sketch it, which the owners Kay and her husband Vern (a donor to Subiaco Museum who is now deceased) obliged. He then presented them with the drawing.
