Historical information
Claremont Baths were situated on the Swan River at the end of Chester Road and opened in March 1902.
The baths were demolished in 1971 after storm damage led to their closure.
On 18 November 1971, the Claremont Council opened an aquatic centre at 12 Davies Road, Claremont.

Contextual information
The boat second from left was owned by Claremont builder Frank Norman Sawkins. The narrow boardwalk on outside of the baths gave access to boats and to service pan toilets.
