Glass measuring flask. Cylindrical glass body with flat round base. White measuring marking up length of flask. At top is an outline of Australia in white and text. Text on side, [CCG / 461 / ml / C20°C] then graduations to 50.

Historical information

Wine making equipment used by Clement Edward Pike who was the manager of the Derry Na Sura Vineyard from 1938 to the late 1940s. Clement Pike was born in South Australia in 1899 where he leant to be a vigneron and owned his own vineyard, exhibiting his wines in London in the 1920s. He moved to Western Australia in the 1930s. He returned to South Australia following the closure of the vineyard in the late 1940s.
He brought with him a variety of equipment to test the quality and composition of the wine and fortified wines being produced at Derry Na Sura. He also brought with him equipment to produce sparkling wine but the machine was destroyed in a fire at the cellars in 1940.
