PHOTOGRAPH: A.E. ATKINS, 19 RAILWAY ROAD, SUBIACO
The image shows the business of A.E. Atkins at 19 Railway Road, Subiaco. The road is unpaved and there are young trees in protective shields. The Atkins' building has an iron roof and weatherboard walls, with the name A.E. ATKINS painted on the front of the building. The lot next door to Atkins is vacant and behind that, the buildings of Hay Street. The tower of the Subiaco Hotel rises above the general scene in the background. Clearly distinguishable are the signs of the 'People's Cash Store' and 'H. Gould, Draper'. A.E. Atkins was an importing business which was carried on by S. Chugg in 1897. Mr Atkins was Miss Queenie Chugg's grandfather.
Printed at the foot of the photograph: 'Subiaco Town W.A.'
