Overview

The photograph shows the 1976 MGGC Men’s Metropolitan pennant squad.

Pictured (left to right):

Back: Jim Vaughan, Ray Hince, Dick Wonders, Chris Carey, Kim Hersey, Laurie Johnston, Bill Barnes

Front: Geoff Murrell, Des Shave, Peter Randall, Don Moran (Captain), Ken Johnson, Colin Harburn, Andrew Simpson

Dick Wonders' name on the back row is uncertain.

The front row of the team is seated on chairs from the club’s lounge at the time and in the background is the gazebo-covered north-west entrance to the clubhouse.

At the base of the photograph is Langham Studio, who presumably took and mounted the photograph.

Two copies of this image are available. The first had a label 'Original of mens team to Don Moran Please' and the other is noted on the rear ‘This belongs to Laurie Johnston’ and is believed to have been donated by his wife, Dawn. The latter lists the names as above except for Dick Wonders, which is left blank.
