Historical information

Mary Connolly (nee Spice) (1815-92) married John Connolly in 1831 in Perth. The couple were to have 10 children before his death in 1852. Mary then moved with her children to Greenough where she farmed. She is credited as being the first woman at Greenough to take up land.
Edward Holmes (1839-91) was a bricklayer convicted of larceny. He was sent to Western Australia in 1859 (no.5549). He worked as a bricklayer for numerous people at Greenough.
