Overview

A sepia photograph of men and women dressed in different costumes as characters in a play on a stage and in front of them is the music pit with the musicians holding their musical instruments.

Historical information

The only known photo of the Orchestra pit in the Katanning Town Hall. The Town Hall upgrade in 1979 could have been when it was removed. The stage was changed again in 1992. This time it was extended into the hall to cover where the pit was.
The Katanning Opera Company cast of 'The Gondoliers', played in October 1917. Photo is autographed by various members of the cast.
