Thomas Whitfield ((1826-82) established a property at Yandanooka in the 1850s. Two of his sons married two daughters of John and Elizabeth Maley. One of their daughters, Ada, briefly lived with her husband Eugene Claude Whitfield (1864-95) in this homestead.

Written on reverse - Yandanooka Homestead. Built by Thomas Whitfield between 1855 & 1863. Now owned & being restored by Thomas Ward. Aug. 1977.
This photograph is in this collection because it was taken by a descendant of John S. Maley.
