Overview

Round white-faced dial with black needle and text sealed behind perspex which has been damage during removal by oxy-torch sparks, and grey set with a metal connector protruding from bottom. Has three (3) holed fixing points located at 12, 4 and 8 on back. Also has three (3) pieces of masking tape with writing on fixed to back.

Inscriptions and markings

On front "PSIG / SA24-3PHP-LWBX / 6685-00-878-0688 / SN 5699 / WEKSLER / INSTRUMENTS / MADE IN U.S.A." with "11/98" written on dial in blue marker and also has "Department of Defence / CALIBRATED / REFER TO REPORT / Initials RD / Due Date 11/00" on adhesive label. On back on masking tape is written in black ink "CHILLED WATER HEATER / THINK".

Contextual information

HMAS Perth (II) was decommissioned in October 1999 and gifted to the City of Albany for a recreational dive wreck; being scuttled on 24 November 2001. Prior to the scuttling, the City removed objects as part of preparing an ‘on-shore’ interpretive centre as per the agreement conditions by the State Government of Western Australia.
