HMAS Perth II Overhead Fluro Light and Power Box

Overview

Triangular white box with a hinged defused perspex panel secured by three (3) screw at top. Light switch on righthand side with power point socket located beneath. Cord attachment with small section of power cord located at top. The top also has three(3) tan plastic fixings. A small red rectangular label with white text is fixed by adhesive on the right edge. On the back are six (6) fixing holes.

Contextual information

HMAS Perth (II) was decommissioned in October 1999 and gifted to the City of Albany for a recreational dive wreck; being scuttled on 24 November 2001. Prior to the scuttling, the City removed objects as part of preparing an ‘on-shore’ interpretive centre as per the agreement conditions by the State Government of Western Australia.
