c. 1950Copy photo of young boy (aged about 12) Hilary Morden Nicholson, the young brother of Reece thomas Nicholson. He is standing in what appears to be a school uniform, shorts, jacket and shirt at the back of 134 Hay Street with the stables in the background. The original photo has been seriously creased and torn in places.
Ray was born on 21 September 1937 in Western Australia. Spent some time in Hoffman's Mill until his father died in 1945. Moved to 134 Hay Street with mum and siblings. 134 Hay Street (house) had a stables and woodyard attached. In 1950 his mum died and his uncle (John Edward Nicholson) became his guardian until he reached adulthood. Joined the Navy and eventually moved to Victoria in the mid-50's.
