Men's Veterans Cup
1975-2004
The Veterans Cup was played by men. Winners names have been inscribed on the associated trophy from 1975 to 2003.
Newsletter April 1982 states that 'Confusion has existed over the eligibility to win the Veteran's Trophy. Some years had seen it played as a 50 years of age and over, others an R.S.L. Membership eligibility.' To end this a dual program was scheduled which saw the inaugural Diggers Cup run with eligibility for ex-servicemen to win and the Veterans Cup eligibility for those 50 years and over.
It is not known why the event was discontinued. Curiously, George Drimatis is noted as winning the Veteran's Cup in 2004 in Newsletter December 2004 (see Item 2022.226). George's name has been added to the list of winners on this basis.
