ALLOMES, Gary

Gary was a MGGC member for a number of years.

 

He served on the club's Board of Management for almost eight years before passing away suddenly due to cancer part-way through his second term as President. He was a passionate club member and very capable golfer and represented the club in senior individual pennants. His travel company, International Golf Specialists, sponsored the club for a number of years. Reflecting his passion for the club, and through his travel company, he organised several golfing trips away with many club members.  

 

In his period as Vice President he chaired the Membership & Marketing Committee before taking over the Club President position in April 2016. During the latter part of that period he also substituted in the role of Finance Director. Illness forced him to step down from his club Presidency in May 2019.  

 

Born 8 February 1955 Passed away 18 June 2019.
