Broken Stick Challenge

This annual event, which commenced in 1986, is a match play challenge between Gosnells and Melville Glades Golf Clubs (Women).  The clubs alternately host the event which is usually conducted before the main season on a nominated day during the week.

 

The numbers of players vary depending on equal number of nominations in each club.  The match play is competed in pairs in groups of four.

 

The first challenge game was played in 1986 as a prelude to the pennant season.    (confirmed in Ladies Committee Minutes of April 1986) with Melville Glades winning 11 matches to 6.
