The City of Karratha Local History Archives is the main repository for the history of the towns of Karratha, Dampier, Wickham, Roebourne, Point Samson, Cossack and previous boundaries.
The Archive at Karratha Library, holds historical documents, newspapers, reference books and a large photograph collection.
Items from the collection can also be seen at Cossack Museum, Dampier Library and Karratha Leisureplex.

Collection overview
Information is available on the history, development, people, places and events that are significant to the area now known as the City of Karratha. The resources are not for loan but can be used in the Karratha Library, copying parts of the collection are possible, charges may apply.
Heritage objects are on display at Cossack Museum, Dampier Library and Karratha Leisureplex.
Parts of the collection have been identified as having national and state significance.
Nor West Jockey Club Collection - The Nor West Jockey Club, Roebourne is the second oldest race club in Western Australia beginning in 1867.
Codd-Hamilton Hybrid bottle - This bottle was manufactured in 1883 for the Weld Hotel in Cossack and is the only one of its kind known to exist.
