Above the flag in white lettering is "COMMONWEALTH" AND UNDERNEATH "SECURITY LOAN AUGUST 1956". On the flag in gold coloured lettering is "First town in Western Australia to attain Quota" and underneath in yellow lettering is "KATANNING-BROOMEHILL".
This pennant is highly significant as it does not have the Australian Coat of Arms on it, however it was awarded to Katanning-Broomehill for being the first town in 1956 to attain its quota.
