ORAL HISTORY (AUDIO): GATLEY, LOIS
2011Lois Joy Gatley was born on the 14th of August 1944, in Mt Lawley, WA. She grew up in South Perth and briefly discusses the things she would get up to as a child in that area. Lois talks about her student years as a nurse and her push for nursing to become a tertiary qualification as well as her time in London after that movement failed. She recalls coming home and meeting Patrick, the man she would eventually marry as well their courtship and his diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis. She talks at length about her work as a social/refuge worker campaigning and educating about domestic violence around the country.
