PAINT SET: METAL PAINT TIN, PAINTS, BRUSHES AND STENCILS

Overview

a) Metal Paint Tin Contents: Paint tin: black metal paint tin, in fair condition. There is extensive evidence of repeated use and age. Some of the black paint has come off in some places. Evidence of rust and scratching is also present. The inside of the tin has extensive dried and congealed paint, chipping and markingsalso present. . Stencil 1: Stencil of two small apples with vines and leaves. Stencil 2: Stecil of one large apple with stem and leaves. Stencil 3: Stencil of three roses, stem and leaves. Stencil 4: Stencil of four flowers of two varietes, stem, leaves and paintable ground. All stencils are coloured from previous use and have puntures presumably from where they have been pinned to a wall of some description by a/the previous owner. Brush 1: Long and skinny brown paint brush with a wooden handle and metal covering. Bristles are small and covered in dried green paint. Congealed black and yellow paint on the bottom of the brush's handle. Brush 2: small and fat brown paint brush with longer bristles than brush 1. Same wooden handle with more of the metal covering present. The brush has a barely legible inscription on the metal covering which reads: T.B.KENI and SONS Plate glass: foggy plate glass rectangle used in the stenciling process. Has been dirtied through use. On one corner part of the glass has separated and is missing a portion of this separated piece. Ceramic base: white ceramic rectangle used in the stenciling process. Coloured and dirtied through use. Assorted paints: 14 tubes of assorted screw top paint tubes. Each are varying in size and are in different states of use. Some are full and relatively clean, while others are almost empty and covereed in dry paint. Rust is present on many of the tubes. Each tube has a makers mark at the bottom, which reads: WINS and & NEWTON Each tube also has a brown label whhich reads: WI and R & NEWTON / LIMITED. / Rathbone Place, London. England / OIL COLOUR The label then reads whatever colour the paint content is of each tube. Misc objects: Tip of a toothpick presumably used to clear the lip of the pant tubes of dried paint,a clip of some description to presumably hold the stencils of paper with the stenciled image and what appears to be a champagne cork covering. 2014 b). Stenciling Booklet Brown paper information booklet titled DECORATIVE ARS / BOOKLET with the specific subject of 'STENCILING' also printed on the front. On the inside of the booklet are various illustrations and descriptions on the subject of stenciling. At the back of the booklet are four dedicated pages advertising other outfits, colours and materials by the maker.
