Overview

Image from Album #2023.262
Image: A black and white photograph of Jolimont sports club departing Jolimont Public Hall at the commencement of their first function, a bike hike. A crowd of children on bikes can be seen riding toward the camera, as well as a child with a horse and carraige , and a small dog leading the pack.
A label beneath the photo reads: ' The Jolimont Sports Club was formed in 1939, and their first function was a bike hike. The hike started from the Jolimont Public Hall on Sunday morning the 20th of August, 1939, and finished at Reabold Hill out near City Beach. A photograpgher from the West Australian Newspapers came out especially to take a photo of the members taking part in the hike. It was a great day. The Jolimoont Sports Club was a very happy and well run Club, first started by Mrs Choules and the people of Jolimont.'
