SCORECARD - MEN CIRCA 1987
c. 1987This scorecard is a "Members" (Men) card.
It has been determined as being applicable in 1987.
The card was sponsored by ALCO whose advertisement appears on the rear of the card. Member Joe Boros organised the sponsorship in support of an initiative by the Captain who stated that '... (The club) would use the Course Tiger Tees on 4 occasions for competitions during the season and special Tiger Score Cards would be produced.' The outside of the card has a gloss finish and is orange in colour with black print and includes a picture of a comic-like tiger.
Text inside card states:
The original 'Glades' course design was to accommodate an Australian Open Championship. In 1981 it was changed to provide a better club course for members. Today's competition on the "Tiger Course" will give you the experience of playing a "Championship length" course. The D.C.R. (length) is 73.4. Nett 74 or 34 points and you have played to your handicap.
The course length on the card is the same as the Medal layout on other cards such as Item 2022.183. The concept of preparing either a Short or Medal course layout was developed in the period 1981 to 1983. One sample of the card has the date 9/5/87 hand written on it so this year has been used to date the Item.
