Historical information

Aerial photograph of Armadale town site taken in the late 1960s. The photograph features the recently built Shire Council and Administration building on Jull Street. The original Armadale Kelmscott Road Board Offices, located opposite the Shire building. Also on Jull Street is St Matthews Church with its recent extension and the Armadale District Hall. The Armadale State School and Congregational Church can be seen on Third Road. The town features a variety of homes, many with trees including fruit trees in their back yards. In the hills, which is mainly covered in bush is the disused slate quarry which used to service the Armadale Brick Works
