Faded green linen hard a cover with red/brown lettering. 152 pages, illustrated, appendices and contents page. Frontis: Arthur Wilson (Dalry) signed by him. Being a resume of humorous and pathetic deeds of heroism, etc., episodes in the annals of ''Mining at Home and Abroad''. ''They have toasted with a thousand toasts all sorts and styles of men, form the gallant soldier at the front, to the man who wields the pen; But they've missed one honest fellow, and I'm raising now a kick That they didn't make a mention of the 'MAN BEHIND THE PICK' ''.(on page facing the preface). On page 43 The Relief of Varischetti (Coolgardie W.A.), and on page 61 The Kalgoorlie's Miner Hero Edward Nichols. 1905. Inscription on front inside page "To Mr & Mrs Alan Harper with the compliments of the 'Author' Arthur Wilson Dec 23, 1916" .
