I saw the intention to form a new golf club in the northern suburbs including invitations to join advertised in the press. My back neighbour and fellow Foundation Member, George Smith and myself had nomination forms in and accepted at Mt Lawley.

We were on a waiting list so there was no guarantee of a call up to join and even if and when we did, we faced the prospect of being provisional members for around 5 years or more. We opted to take the punt that Wanneroo would be a goer and so both joined as Foundation Members. Wonderful support from Pam (wife).
