My interest was sparked when I noticed an advertisement in The West Australian newspaper about the proposal to form a new golf club in the northern suburbs of Perth. I was in the RAAF and a member of the Chequers Golf Club but I planned on retiring and was looking for property to buy, probably in the Wanneroo Townsite. The proposed location of the Wanneroo Golf Club was ideal in these circumstances so I decided to join.
