On paper:
'FOR OUR SOLDIERS
Thou who hast bid thy people come to thee-
To thee we come.
Bless the our noble son's across the sea-
Afar from home.
Be thou there guide their comfort, and their light
Remember lord Australia's sons to-night
Gone from the humble cottage in the dell-
From home, sweet home;
One from the dear one's whom they love so well-
To face the storm.
Gone from the mansions- lead thou kindly light.
Remember lord Australia's sons to night
Some now are dying- tis the cost of war-
Have mercy lord,
