Overview

This is an example of the replica trophy given to the men's club champion.

The trophy plaque mounted on the base reads:

Melville Glades Golf Club

YYYY

Club Champion

… where YYYY is the year that the event was held.

Awarding a replica trophy was a regular feature for some time before a lapse, and then reinstated, so that the winner can take the replica home rather than the actual trophy. These appears to be supported by a photograph of Tony Naughtin in 1977 where he is being presented with what appears to be a personal trophy representing his men's championship win.
