PINK BODICE
c. 1900Pink, silk brocade bodice with boat neckline and capped sleeves. The front is composed of 4 panels - becoming pointed at bottom hem. Lined with calico, it has 5 rib stays, and fastens at the centre back with 15 metal hooks and eyes. Outfit belonged to an English cousin of Rose Burges by the name of Phipps.(According to note by Lucille Burges). Mackie album (2001.56) contains a picture of Miss Phipps from The Australasian magazine.
