Katanning in Albany Dog Throwing Trophy
1989Overview
A rectangular piece of wood with a metal piece in the centre which is shaped like the side view of a railway track with two metal plaques either side.
Historical information
"Throwing the dog" means releasing the safety latch or locking mechanism on a manual ground switch so the lever can be thrown to move the railroad points. This trophy was awarded as part of 1889 to 1989 Railway celebrations in Katanning.
