A rubber stamp consists of a piece of rubber mounted on a wooden handle, which is used to create an impression on a surface. To use a rubber stamp, you press it onto an ink pad to transfer ink onto the rubber, and then press the rubber onto paper or another material to leave a clear impression of the design or text engraved on the rubber.

Betty Ambrose graduated in 1936 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide, the third-oldest university in Australia. The university was the second university in the English-speaking world (after the University of London, 1878) to admit women on equal terms with men (1881) and allow them equally eligible for all academic prizes and honours. She practised at St Anne's, St Johns and Royal Perth and started a programme for immunization in 1975.
